The Bus Centre also stocks paratransit units that give flexible configurations with the addition of convertible fold-down seats. Often designed as 8+4 capacity, these units can hold up to 8 passengers and 4 wheelchairs but can easily convert to 16+2. Communities and municipalities appreciate the flexibility this kind of design provides. A paratransit Starcraft bus is designed with accessibility features to accommodate passengers with mobility challenges.

Safety Seating Just Got Better

Shuttle buses are now required to have 3-point seatbelts for every seat in the bus. A three-point seatbelt has a single strap that goes over the passenger’s shoulder and diagonally down across the chest, and another strap that goes across the lap. It’s important to make sure that all passengers are properly secured to prevent or minimize injuries in the event of an accident and these seat belts do just that.

Additional seatbelts have caused an increase in vehicle weight, forcing all manufacturers to adjust passenger capacities to compensate. While the 24 passenger rear luggage option is no longer available, the overall benefit of extra safety makes this trade-off well worthwhile.
